Like any young kid interested in motorcycles, I started
riding at a young age. I worked my way up to the local A
class in Michigan . I accumulated a mess of injuries and
decided to make racing a hobby, not a career. I was accepted
to a College for an Athletic Trainers Program. After
graduating from school, I worked for the Heart and Stroke
Foundation, doing rehabilitation work on post-heart surgery
patients. There, I applied my schooling, both in training
and nutrition, to get people back on their feet again. But
my interest in racing kept drawing me back to training
sports enthusiasts, in whatever their sport was. In 1990 I
opened my own fitness center. In 2002 I sold the business to
a large fitness group. Now I’m part of a management team,
training other trainers and still training people myself.
With more time to ride and race I began to get bombarded
with questions at the track on training. And well, here I
am... back where I started. Instead of trying to make a
career in racing for myself, I’m training racers to better
themselves in a field I love as much as they do.
